Robbinsdale Whiz Bang Days Parade
This year, PRISM Express was in the Whiz Bang Days parade! We had a great time handing out candy and PRISM information while enjoying the sunshine! Thank you to all who helped set this up and also to those who came out and supported Whiz Bang Days this year. See you next year!
Volunteer Appreciation Extravaganza
This year’s Volunteer Appreciation Dinner was a lot of fun and entertaining to say the least! This year’s theme was “The PRISM Awards”, a take on movie awards shows. Three skits were performed by the PRISM staff that were loosely-based on famous movies and skits, but with a little PRISM twist: The Wizard of Oz, Saturday Night Live’s “More Cowbell” skit, and Star Wars. Then the volunteers voted on awards such as Best Actor and Best Actress. PRISM Staff prepared and served a scrumptious meal and dessert and provided much silly and cantankerous humor throughout the night!
PRISM would not be able to provide the services we do without our volunteers. Each and every volunteer is important to us and this is one way we can thank you all for your dedicated support.
Stakeholder Celebration Recap
PRISM’s 2008 Stakeholder Celebration was a huge success! Guests had a chance to mingle with new and old friends, meet PRISM staff and learn more about PRISM programs. We had over 160 guests attend and raised over $4,800.
Diana Pierce from KARE 11 News was the event’s master of ceremonies and guests were touched by a personal story told by a PRISM client. All guests had the opportunity to role-play a client story to better learn how PRISM helps individuals and families in our community.
Your donations and support allow PRISM to reach so many individuals and families throughout our community.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you next year!

PRISM Renovations
In the beginning of November 2007, PRISM underwent many important renovations. The building was rearranged to allow for a larger food shelf area, a larger clothes closet and more office space for employees. PRISM would like to thank all of the wonderful volunteers that dedicated their time and efforts over their weekend to help make the transition. We could not have done it without you!
If you would like to volunteer, please contact Jess Kelly at 763-432-4207 or jkelly@prismmpls.org.
Come in and see what we’ve done with the place! Contact Kelly Tomek at 763-432-4202 or ktomek@prismmpls.org to set up a tour.
Family Car Initiative
In order to meet the increasing demand for vehicles for working families, PRISM has collaborated with other social service agencies to organize the Family Car Initiative (FCI), a donor-friendly car donation program offering extensive tax benefits for the donor. To donate your car or for more information about FCI, call 763-529-1860 or visit the website at
