PRISM PROGRAMS & SERVICES
PRISM believes that every person is capable of achieving stability and self-sufficiency with the help of an effective and healthy support network. Our programs are structured to provide that support and help our clients take control of their own situations.

While some of our programs are specific to a Hennepin County-designated service area, others are Hennepin County-wide and beyond. PRISM will refer clients to other agencies in their area when it's appropriate. PRISM will serve anyone who has been referred by one of our area churches at least one time, and then offer the appropriate referrals. We will also serve clients who are currently homeless. Please note the service area for each program on that specific program's page.

Food Shelf Program
PRISM's MarketPlace is a unique grocery-store-style food shelf that allows families to choose their own 10- to 15-day supply of food.

Financial Assistance Program
This service provides 0% interest loans for families, paid directly to landlords or mortgage companies to ensure stable housing during times of financial crisis.

Clothing and Household
In our volunteer-run store, clothing can be purchased for a nominal fee of $.50 per pound and/or provided free to families. Household items can also be purchased and are priced individually.

School Supplies
New school supplies are available at "Back to School" time and year-round as kids' supplies run out.

Holidays & Birthdays
Birthday gifts, party supplies, Holiday gifts, and more are available to parents so kids can enjoy family celebrations without causing a financial hardship to the family.

Employment & Budget Counseling
While this class is a requirement for some of PRISM's loan programs, they are open to anyone interested in learning more about managing their money.

Referral Services
PRISM has partnerships with many area agencies and can refer families to receive help with employment counseling and other services to address many needs.

Transportation Programs
Transportation is the number one barrier to getting and keeping a job. PRISM has found that transportation problems result in an even greater need for our other emergency and support services. We have several programs aimed at getting and keeping reliable transportation in the hands of low-income working families.
