What are the hours of the food shelf?
PRISM’s Marketplace Food Shelf is open Monday – Thursday. (Please refer to our hours of operation as each day is a little different).
What are the hours of the thrift shop?
PRISM’s Shop for Change thrift shop is open Monday – Friday and the first Saturday of each month. Please refer to our specific hours of operation.
Do I need an appointment?
No appointment is necessary. Food shelf and social services are available on a first come, first served basis during the hours of operation as posted for the Marketplace Food Shelf.
Do I have to live in the area?
PRISM’s Marketplace Food Shelf participants live in Crystal, Golden Valley, New Hope, Robbinsdale, and eastern Plymouth. If you live in one of those cities, PRISM is your local food shelf. Our thrift shop and free shelf are open to everyone, and our housing programs serve a broader range of people in northwest suburban Hennepin County.
If you live outside the PRISM Marketplace Food Shelf community, you can find the food shelf closest to you.
Do you provide financial assistance?
We have limited financial assistance for housing including one-time rental assistance. PRISM has eligibility requirements and qualifications which can be discussed with a case manager.
Can you help with utility payments?
PRISM is unable to assist with utility payments.
Do you provide car repairs or car loans?
We do not repair cars or offer loans to buy cars.

How do I donate food?
Donations of food are conveniently accepted Monday from 9:00 am-7:00 pm, and Tuesday-Thursday 9:00 am-4:00 pm at the Marketplace door at PRISM 730 Florida Ave S. in Golden Valley. View this location on Google Maps.
How do I donate to the Shop for Change thrift shop?
Donations of clothing and household goods are conveniently accepted Monday from 9:00 am–7:00 pm, and Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am–4:00 pm at the “DONATIONS” door at PRISM at 730 Florida Ave S in Golden Valley. View this location on Google Maps.
What do you accept for donations?
We gratefully accept donations of packaged non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene items for the Marketplace Food Shelf; and clothing, accessories, shoes, outerwear, housewares, kitchen and bathroom items, and small appliances for the thrift shop. Here is a detailed list of current needs and what we cannot accept.
