Volunteering at PRISM is a fun and satisfying way to get involved with your community. Each year, our team of several hundred volunteers gives over 25,000 hours in our thrift shop, food shelf, major events, and more!
If you are interested in any of the following opportunities, please contact PRISM's Volunteer Manager, email Dan Gregory at firstname.lastname@example.org or call at 763-432-4210 to get started.
PRISM does an annual inventory, and volunteers are crucial! Help us organize and audit clothing, food, and other program supplies on January 29th from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
Marketplace Food Shelf
Marketplace volunteers assist program participants with shopping. They also greet donors, sort donations, stock shelves, and assist with routine maintenance.
Shop for Change
Volunteers assist customers and manage the cash register. Individuals will also help with greeting donors, sorting, hanging, and pricing donations.
PRISM keeps our waiting room stocked with books and magazines that anyone can take. Volunteers help sort and organize book donations, and keep the library well stocked throughout the week.
Family and Group Opportunities
Organize a Supply Drive
PRISM relies on the community to keep our food shelf stocked. Groups can volunteer to organize a food, clothing, or other non-food item supply drive. This is great for businesses, neighborhood organizations, or school groups. Contact us before you get started to get handout materials and a list of our current needs.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Every week, there are hundreds of people who come through PRISM to use services. On Fridays, volunteers are needed for routine cleaning and maintenance so we're ready for Monday. Groups may be up to 10 people, and all volunteers must be older than 16.
Monday Night Treats
Every Monday evening, PRISM opens our doors to homeless youth as well as regular program participants. Volunteer groups are need to provide sandwiches or other snacks to participants who are shopping during the dinner hour. Volunteer groups are asked to provide the good materials. Groups may be up to 5 people, and all volunteers must be older than 16.
